Carrie Underwood took time this week to pay a visit to the 2nd annual ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp in Nashville. The week-long program focused on putting more music in the lives of talented campers with developmental disabilities. While there, Carrie did more than just visit; she ended up singing several songs with the campers. They all sang “Jesus Take The Wheel,” “Undo It” and Bill Withers’ “Lean On Me.”

“I sing because I love to sing, and that’s what they love to do, too,” Carrie said. “They just made my day, my week and my month.”

Even before Carrie arrived at the camp on Wednesday, the participants had already had an exciting week. They had visited with Little Big Town and sang karaoke with Wynonna Judd. They also wrote a song with Gary Allan, Brett James and Odie Blackmon, and recorded the song at Starstruck with producer Mark Bright. They are set to perform tonight at the Opry with Darius Rucker.

Carrie was inspired by the participants this week, much like she was back in April when they sang with Daruis Rucker during his performance at the ACM Awards.

“I was front row, center, the best seat in the house for watching them,” she said. “At awards shows, everybody’s worried about promoting their new single or trying to sell albums, but they were doing it because they love it. It was an emotional, happy, love-filled moment. I went back and watched it again after the show was over, because I wanted to be back in that moment.”
